Kicking Your Addiction – The 5 Golden Rules

Rule # 1- Forget Will Power, Your will is what got you where you are!

Our addictions are such a powerful and relentless force that no one person can conquer it on their own. As soon as we accept this fact, and believe me it is a proven fact, then we have given our selves a realistic chance of finding recovery and overcoming the bondage of self will. If we try to kid ourselves into thinking that we can kick our addiction with our own will power then we will remain sick in our disease and continue to make the same mistakes over and over again, never remaining clean for any substantial amount of time. It is essential to realize that it is “our own will” that led us to our addiction and our own will that kept us suffering. Left up to us we will continually search for different ways to use “successfully”, but this is nothing more than an illusion. This is the voice of our disease speaking to our weakness, telling us we don’t have a problem or we need our drugs just to function or “stay level”. Our disease wants to keep us sick; it is far to powerful for us to try to fight it alone. It takes us from our family’s, our friends, and in many cases it is so powerful it even takes us from our children. Who in their right mind would give up the ones they love so very much over drugs, alcohol or any addiction? The answer is simple: nobody in his or her right mind would. When we are sick in our addictions however, we are far from being in our right mind; in fact our mind is no longer controlled by us, but by our addictions. The drugs are calling all the shots; they rule our day, our thoughts, and our every decision. We are not in control of our lives and we are caught up in an endless circle of sickness and despair. Surrender your will and miracles will begin to happen, I can promise you that first hand.

Rule # 2- You don’t have to do this alone. There are people who want to help you!

Our disease wants us to think we are alone, but we are not alone at all in reality, there are millions of addicts just like us and we need each other to beat this horrible existence. Millions of addicts have found recovery and they live wonderfully happy lives today. Don’t dare believe the old clich

How to Know Whether You Have Colon Cancer Or Irritable Bowel Syndrome – Information You Need to Know

If you start noticing a change in your bowel habits, believe it or not you want it to be IBS if it’s going to be an ongoing issue. Colon Cancer and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) both have closely related symptoms and can leave you in bad shape when it comes to how you feel. The largest difference between the two is obviously that the Cancer will kill you if it’s not taken care of.

Most Doctors will agree that IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion. Basically what this means is that after every other thing has been tested and you are showing to have an otherwise healthy colon, this is the last thing you will be diagnosed with.

Colon Cancer affects over 100,000 new people each year and has roughly a 33% mortality rate each year as well. The key being that you want to find the disease before it has a chance to spread.

IBS is a more common disease that affects your bowel habits and can mimic the same symptoms as the cancer. Loose stools (diarrhea), constipation, pencil thin stools, frequent defecation.

Because these are so similar, many Doctors will run extensive tests to make sure there is no tumors in your large intestine which is mainly done through what is known as a colonoscopy. This is where a long snake like hose is inserted through the rectum and travels through the large intestine in search for abnormalities and other differences in structure.

These are easy procedures to have done as you are normally sedated. The key is to not be scared to talk with your Doctor if you notice any of the symptoms above.

Respiratory Allergy Symptoms

Hay fever allergies, also known as respiratory allergies surprising affects of the children in America. To ones surprise, hay fever allergies are seldom related to hay or cause a fever, nor does a virus induce hay fever allergies. With the staggering percentage of children being affected by allergies, medical understanding of how to treat hay fever and respiratory allergies remains limited.

Each time these antibodies recognize the same invading allergens; histamine is released into the bloodstream causing irritating hay fever, respiratory allergies symptoms. There are two main types of allergies: seasonal allergies (spring through fall) and perennial allergies (all-year long).

If your child has been diagnosed with respiratory allergies, there are quite a few things you can do in your home to help reduce the symptoms. Eliminating as much dust and pollen from inside the house can make a big difference in the severity of allergy attacks. It’s not just the dust you see in the air or on desktops that causes trouble. There is also dust hiding in carpets, furniture and bedding.

When a person that is sensitive comes in contact with what causes them to be sensitive, the allergen, the immune system releases a large amount of a chemical called histamine. A large amount of this histamine causes tissue swelling or inflammation or the tightening of muscles.

There are many causes of respiratory allergies and allergens can come from many sources. Common respiratory allergies are due to the inhaling of allergens such as dust, pollen, mold spores, animal dander, or cockroach or dust mite droppings. Once you inhale allergens, it would cause a respiratory reaction such as sneezing and runny nose.

As a person who suffered from nasal allergies due to pollen, I can understand the trauma associated. The terrible sneezing attacks, runny nose, itchy eyes and nose, and excessive tearing could debilitate any person. I had trouble with dust mites and pollen and suffered during rains and winters. Antihistamines, as we are all aware, only help alleviate the symptoms.

If your eyes start to become itchy and aggravated from all of the rubbing from you trying to relieve the itching and you are unable to get to allergy medicine, you may want to consider rinsing your eyes with cool water. This can also be helpful if you have respiratory allergies or if you got the allergen into your eye.

There are more things that cause allergies than pollen. For respiratory allergies, smog, perfumes, cleaning products and some foods can be the problem source. If your allergy runs to hives, it is most likely to something you’ve had to eat or drink such as strawberries, seafood and some herbal preparations. Having the testing done will make things more simple.

In other instances of food allergies there may be nausea and vomiting. In Chinese Medicine every organ has direction associated with it when it is functioning properly and the proper direction of the stomach is down. In other words, the stomach is supposed to empty its contents down into the small intestine, passing it on to be broken down even further.

It is important to understand what respiratory allergens are if you expect to protect your child from them. An allergy is an immune reaction to an irritable substance in the child’s environment. The child’s body views these irritants as dangerous and releases chemicals, such as histamines, that cause uncomfortable and potentially harmful symptoms.

Bronchitis is one of the increasing respiratory disorders today. Affected people reside in areas where high level air pollution, commonly affected people who are smokers, bronchitis is a disorder which might affect your daily tasks. There are mainly 2 kinds of bronchitis which are the chronic bronchitis and acute bronchitis.

Most people think of allergies as respiratory allergies. These can be caused by many different allergens, including dust, mold, mildew, pollen, and more. The most common symptoms of a respiratory allergy are sneezing, coughing, runny nose, dry and itchy throat, and watery eyes.

Causes Of Autism

The fact is that no one really knows for sure what causes autism, but many professionals would most likely agree that autism is likely caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. For many parents, this uncertainty in what causes autism can be very frustrating.

It is generally accepted that autism is caused by abnormalities in brain structure or function. Researchers are investigating a number of theories, including a possible link between heredity, genetics, and medical problems. Although there appears to be a pattern of autism or related disabilities in many families, researchers have not yet identified a single “trigger” that causes autism to develop.

Autism is an extremely overwhelming condition, showing itself up in different ways in different cases, sometimes getting difficult or even impossible to treat, frustrating the doctors, patients and his family alike. The whole problem with this medical condition is that it does not stem out of any one definite, identifiable cause.

The disorder could be arising from abnormalities and/or deformities in several areas of the human brain. Some scientists and researchers are also of the opinion that autism could sometimes be the result of a gene mutation.

It is very difficult to comprehend that our son could possibly have autism, this is when parents are in a state of shock, guilt, denial, desperation, blame and even depression. Autism is was a word that families do not want to hear. Since then, we have all come to accept it and our families have been very compassionate about our son and us.

Autism is a term that refers to a variety of neurological developmental issues, and that affects certain areas of the brain, the ones that are responsible for the language skills, the interaction with others, and many more, depending on each individual. People that suffer from autism are acting differently from each other, and because we know so little about the brain and the way it works it’s hard to understand what causes this affection or what is the best method of treating it.

The reactions, patterns, and symptoms associated with autism begin taking shape inside the womb. There are many symptoms associated with the autistic spectrum. One major and important symptom is “withdrawal.” Withdrawal produces other autistic symptoms such as mutism or not speaking, not making eye contact, and choices to live in their own private world.

Just as there are many signs of autism, there are many ways you can help your autistic child cope with everyday life. Praise them often, it reinforces good behaviors. Teach them things by doing it with them, showing them how, even if it is something menial like brushing their teeth or eating with a fork and knife. As they get older, use visual reminders to help them keep on task. Put up pictures of getting dressed.

Then there are other types of illnesses called auto immune system related illnesses. About 10 years ago I sprayed the pear tree in my backyard with pesticides because all the pears I was getting had bug spots and most were crooked in shape. Not the type you get in the grocery stores. The pesticide attacks the spinal cord nerve system in the bugs and makes them paralysed.
